“Treffpunkt China-Österreich” TCÖ reports on the activities of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna. In the 9th episode of the series there is a lot to celebrate this time:
First, of course, the Chinese New Year, which this year is under the sign of the buffalo. The New Year celebration of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna is taking place online this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Suzhou Chinese Orchestra with conductor Pang Ka-Pang is joining from China. In Beijing, instead of family celebrations, leisure activities such as sports, calligraphy or painting are on the agenda for the New Year this year.
Diplomatic relations between China and Austria were established 50 years ago. TCÖ interviewed the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Austria Li Xiaosi.
And last but not least, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna celebrates its 15th anniversary. TCÖ looks back at the activities of the past years. Particular attention is also paid to the activities of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet in this context.
